Our story
A mother, a daughter and a robot
Paco wasn't born in a big company's lab. It was born in our home, out of a conversation between mother and daughter: what would the robot we'd actually love to have with us be like?
Who we are
We're Paula and Sonia, daughter and mother. I, Sonia, have spent years working with what is now the heart of Paco: voice and artificial intelligence. I build voice agents that handle real phone calls, and I teach and share about it — you can find me on my YouTube channel or in my community about voice agents. I'm the technical half of the team: the one who makes Paco listen, speak and remember.
Paula, my daughter, is the other half — and the one to blame for Paco having a little face. She's always loved robots, and she's the one with the clearest idea of how one should behave so you actually want it at home: that it lives its life on the screen, that its eyes light up when something amuses it, that you can stroke its head.
How it started
The starting question was very down-to-earth: smart speakers answer you and forget you, and the companion robots that existed struck us as cold or wildly expensive. So we made the list of what we'd really want — that it converses and remembers you, that it reminds you of medication and appointments on its own, that it calls the family without dialling numbers, that it plays the old songs, that it has a face with a life of its own — and we set about building it.
Today that home project is a real product: Paco's brain works, its face is alive, and the first physical body is coming out of the workshop. All designed in Spain, with the features a family actually uses, and tested where it has to be tested: in our own home.
What we believe in
Honesty: Paco never pretends to be a person — it tells you itself that it's an artificial intelligence, and it never uses affection to pressure you. Privacy: it doesn't record your conversations, its memory lives with you, and what you want deleted is really deleted. Simplicity: no menus, no apps to learn — you plug it in and you talk to it. They're the three rules we set ourselves on day one, and all three are written into our terms (in Spanish) and our privacy policy (in Spanish), not just here.
